Our story

Fitness and rescue,
together.

Bark n Burn started simple: we love working out, and we love helping animals. So we built the only class in San Diego that does both at the same time.

Every Saturday at the Reunify Yoga deck in Ocean Beach, we open 25 mats to anyone who wants to move their body for an hour. Three local rescues bring adoptable puppies. The dogs play, climb on you, fall asleep on your shins, and sometimes — go home with the right person.

No yoga experience needed. No equipment to buy. Mats are provided. Just show up.

Every class supports a San Diego rescue

Three rescues.
Real adoptions.

The dogs at every class come from one of these three San Diego organizations. Adoption conversations happen in person after class — we'll connect you with the right rescue.

FAQ

Questions we actually get asked.

Do I need yoga or fitness experience?
Not at all. Bark n Burn is a bodyweight fitness class — not yoga — and it's designed for genuinely all fitness levels. If you can move your body, you're good to go. The puppies are the great equalizer.
Will there really be dogs at every class?
Yes — every class features adoptable puppies from one of our three San Diego rescue partners: Cantu Foundation, Dulce Vida, or The Animal Pad. Real dogs, every single session. That's the whole point.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself. Mats are provided. Wear workout clothes and bring a water bottle. Everything else is handled — including the dogs.
Can I adopt one of the dogs?
Yes. All dogs at class are adoptable through our rescue partners. We'll connect you with the right rescue after class. It's happened — and it's the best feeling in the world.
What's the cancellation policy?
Full refunds are available up to 24 hours before class start. Just visit our Manage Booking page, enter the email you booked with, and cancel from there — the refund processes automatically (or your pack credit is restored). Inside the 24-hour window, refunds aren't automatic; email barknburnsd@gmail.com or text Porter at (406) 529-4608 if there's an emergency.
Where exactly is the class?
The Reunify Yoga deck at 4862 Voltaire St, San Diego, CA 92107. The deck is outside, behind the studio — please don't go inside Reunify Yoga itself; class is on the back deck. Street parking is usually easy on Voltaire. It's also bus-accessible.
Can I bring my own dog?
For now, no. The dogs at class are rescue pups we bring from our shelter partners. This keeps the experience safe and controlled for everyone — two-legged and four-legged.
